Categories & Tags

Organize your inventory using Categories (item types) and Tags for flexible classification.

Categories (Item Types)

Categories help you classify items into logical groups. Every item belongs to exactly one category.

Managing Categories

Navigate to Inventory → Categories to view and manage your categories.

Custom Fields

Each category can have its own custom fields — additional data fields specific to that type of item.

For example, a "Laptop" category might have custom fields for:

  • Screen Size
  • RAM
  • Storage Capacity
  • Serial Number Format

To manage custom fields:

  1. Go to Inventory → Categories.
  2. Click on a category.
  3. Navigate to the Custom Fields tab.
  4. Add, edit, or remove custom fields.

Deleting Categories

A category can only be deleted if no items are currently assigned to it. Reassign items to a different category before deleting.

Tags

Tags provide flexible, cross-cutting organization. Unlike categories, an item can have multiple tags.

Managing Tags

Navigate to Settings → Tags to view and manage all tags.

  2. Enter a Name (e.g., "VIP", "Fragile", "Event 2025").
  3. Optionally choose a Color for visual identification.
  4. Click Create.

Using Tags

Tags can be applied to:

  • Items — Tag items for grouping (e.g., "Stage Equipment")
  • Renters — Tag contacts for segmentation (e.g., "Premium Client")

You can filter items and renters by tags in their respective list views.

Tag Colors

Each tag can have a custom color. This makes it easy to visually identify tagged items in lists and dashboards.
